Plugins make our life easier. Conversely, they can cause devastation to our site by increasing the loading time. Yeah, too many plugins are detrimental for a website, and you should keep only the ones you need.
We’re concerned not because more plugins will slow your site, but they can fuel to security threats. Outdated plugins are a sweet path for hackers. It’s easy to inject harmful code into the obsolete plugins.
The infected plugins may cause unwanted redirection or getting users into a malicious link, or you can’t think what’s going to happen. You can do three things to keep your site from being attacked through plugins.

- Update the existing plugins
- Be cautious while using the free plugins (especially the new ones)
