Notable features of Fluent Forms shipped in 2024
Fluent Forms developers worked hard this year on some awesome features. Here are some notable features and integrations Fluent Forms released in 2024 –
Form creation using AI (ChatGPT) & submission confirmation message using AI (ChatGPT)
This was one of the features most requested by our users this year. Our team has been working on this for a long time.
Using Fluent Forms integration with OpenAI’s chatGPT you can create forms using just prompts. The accuracy of the result depends on how thoughtfully you write the prompt. Write the prompt and it will create a new form with the required input fields.
You can also use the chatGPT integration to show confirmation messages based on your submitted inputs. Check this blog to learn more about the chatGPT integration with Fluent Forms.
Paddle payment method
Fluent Forms has lots of payment integration such as PayPal, Square, Stripe, Mollie, RazorPay, and Paystack. Check our Fluent Forms payment feature page to learn more. Paddle is the new addition to that list.
Paddle has been gaining traction in the business world recently. Now you can use paddle with Fluent Forms.
Form edit history (Beta)
What if you can see your forms history just like you access your Google Docs history and restore it? We introduced this directly into the forms editor. Now you can see every version of your form’s history in a cool sidebar. You can select and restore the version you want anytime.
JetEngine CPT & Metabox compatibility
Previously Fluent Forms worked fine with ACF. Now it’s compatible with JetEngine CPT and Metabox too. Create your custom forms with any of these plugins as you like.
Import entries & print entries
Fluent Forms has the capability of importing forms. You can export forms and entries too.
This year we introduced a way to import entries and the ability to print entries.
Contact Form 7 migration
Fluent Forms has migration features that help you migrate from WPForms, Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms & Caldera Forms.
Contact Form 7 migration is the new addition to that list. Long overdue, we know!
Global Inventory
Fluent Forms has a nice feature called Inventory Manager to manage product listing in forms. However, it missed the functionality to add multiple products in a form and sync them all together. We introduced Global Inventory to tackle this problem.
This feature allows you to sync multiple products from a single location and add them to multiple forms. Product availability will be synced across all forms if orders are placed through a single product form. Additionally, the forms will display messages when products are out of stock and show the quantity of products remaining in stock.
Admin Approval
We introduced Admin Approval in Fluent Forms update 5.1.7, to give power to the admin to approve or reject new form entries in a list manually without using the automatic listing.
The new admin approval system allows you to manually approve entries from any form. This is useful when you’re running multiple automations or integrations, and you don’t want them to run immediately after a form is submitted.
You can customize the email and send it to the site admin or any other email address. Unapproved and declined entries can be automatically deleted if they are not confirmed within a certain number of days. This helps to reduce spam.
Dynamic Field & dynamic default values for dynamic fields
We introduced Dynamic fields in the Fluent Forms 5.2.0 update. It was a most requested feature. This helps you populate form fields such as radio buttons, checkboxes, select menus, and multi-select menus from various sources such as Fluent Forms submissions, taxonomy terms, posts, and remote CSV files.
And after some user feedback, we also added dynamic values option in the dynamic field in Fluent Forms 5.2.3 update. Values can now be automatically assigned to fields and displayed to users.
Square inline payment integration
Fluent Forms previously had Square payment integration but lacked inline payment integration. This has been addressed in the 5.2.3 release, which now allows Square inline payments to be used with Fluent Forms.
Form-specific permissions in the permission manager
Fluent Forms’ permission manager previously allowed Admin to grant access to all forms or customize access per person.
The upgraded permission manager introduced in Fluent Forms 5.2.3 now allows Admin to grant specific access to specific forms. Admin can grant someone access to one or multiple forms, and grant view access, entry access, or full access to all forms. This upgrade allows for flexible forms management among team members.
Form editor undo/redo functionality (Beta)
The forms editor now supports undo and redo functionality using keyboard shortcuts introduced in Fluent Forms 5.2.5 update, similar to the WordPress post editor.
Check out all of our 2024 updates here in the changelog.
Working on user feedback
This year’s most of the update focused on user feedback. We tried to listen to our user – that’s you! Most of the bug fixes and improvements we shipped came from user suggestions. A huge chunk of that user suggestion came from our customer support portal.
We also kept an eye on our Fluent Forms Facebook community. Many users shared and discussed new improvements, and gave us suggestions in the community. Thank you to those who took the time to give feedback and suggest new features. Fluent Forms 5.2.5 prioritizes enhancements to security, user experience, and features, based on user feedback.
Plugin Security
This year we worked with Cleantalk and got Plugin Security Certification (PSC) through various tests, improvements, and security developments. Fluent Forms team takes security very seriously. Our team solved all previous security concerns within the reporting time. Anyone can report security issues here.
Contribution to the WordPress community
Fluent Forms parent company, WP Manage Ninja always open to WordPress contributions. It’s our official policy to encourage our team members to contribute to WordPress even if it on office time. Many of the employees regularly contribute to WordPress releases.
